Our mission is to help everyone learn so that they can progress and fulfil their potential
We believe in the importance of education so that everyone develops the skills that allow them to achieve their potential.
As a major European player in stationery and office products, we help people of all ages learn, work, succeed and grow, thanks to our range of products that facilitate learning processes.
Our Ambition 2050: Contributing to the Net-Zero Carbon Emissions ambition.
Energy-related CO2 emissions worldwide rose by 6% in 2021, reaching the highest level ever recorded. These emissions are responsible for climate change, which is having a major impact on our quality of life all over the world: changing the air we breathe, reducing drinking water supplies, destroying the places where we live and reducing food supplies.
As manufacturers, we have a significant responsibility for these emissions.
By working together, we protect not only the forest, but also its surroundings.
Forest Management
At Oxford, we give you an environmental guarantee. As a stationery company, we are committed to using paper from 100% sustainably managed forests and responsible FSC® or PEFC certified or recycled sources.
The first brand in Europe to be certified with the European Ecolabel
In 2014, Oxford became the first stationery brand in France and Europe to be granted the official European Ecolabel. It guarantees a reduction in environmental impact throughout the product’s life cycle, i.e. from sustainable forest management to the end of the product’s life after use.
We fight against resource waste
At Oxford, we follow circular economy principles by taking care to audit the management of renewable resources and by manufacturing recyclable products to reduce waste. For example:
- Less than 10% of the materials used in the production of our notebooks are non-renewable.
- We manufacture our products primarily in Europe.
- We recycle 100% of our manufacturing waste, paper and plastic.
- We do not use single-use plastic in our finished products. All our products are designed to be used several times.
Recycling our products gives them a second life!
Oxford is the only brand to guarantee that its European Ecolabel certified notebooks are truly recyclable and will not interfere with the recycled paper manufacturing process. Oxford conducts annual laboratory tests according to the European Ecolabel recyclability criteria.
Finally, we promote a second life for our products. For example:
- Our My Rec’up range gives a second life to wastepaper cups.
- We also use our waste to make new products, as with the 2nd life elasticated folders. The recycled polypropylene cover is made from recycled manufacturing waste.
We do not use toxic products
We replace toxic chemicals in our inks, coatings and adhesives.
All our plastics are guaranteed to be free of hazardous substances as defined by the European REACH regulation. Furthermore, we refuse to use certain dangerous phthalates and heavy metals in our products.
Our continuous improvement in performance is certified
In addition to the ecolabels, we obtained triple certification in 2016: ISO 9001 for quality, ISO 14001 for the environment, ISO 45001 for health and safety at work.
Some of our factories also hold ISO 50001 certification for energy management. Our manufacturing sites and warehouses are consequently improving their impact on the environment, reducing health and safety risks for their employees, while ensuring you receive quality products.
Our social responsibility
Since 2015, we have required our suppliers outside Europe to be audited according to the SMETA standard on employee rights, health and safety, the environment and business ethics. Our audit reports are also available to our customers in the international SEDEX database.
We also launched ‘Project Zero’ in 2018 to significantly increase our health and safety requirements for our employees.
At Oxford, we support local initiatives in each country rather than those on an international scale.
